How to change attendee name without canceling the WooCommerce order?

FAQ & Troubleshooting · 2 min read · Updated May 21, 2026

your customer entered the wrong attendee name (typo, or wants to transfer the ticket to a friend) and you want to fix it on the existing WooCommerce order without cancelling and reissuing the whole thing.

The quick fix

While running Tickera with Bridge for WooCommerce, you can edit the attendee directly from inside the WooCommerce order detail screen — no need to cancel-and-reissue, no need to refund and rebook.

  1. WordPress admin → WooCommerce → Orders.
  2. Find and open the order containing the ticket you need to edit.
  3. Scroll to the line item for the ticket. You’ll see an editable attendee section attached to it.
  4. Edit name (and any other attendee fields). Save.

What happens to the ticket PDF

After saving the new attendee name, the PDF ticket regenerates on next download — the new name appears on the printed ticket and in the QR-code-linked record. If the buyer already downloaded the PDF with the old name, they’ll need to re-download (or you can resend the ticket email).

Ticket transfers between people

This same workflow handles ticket transfers — buyer can’t attend, wants to give the ticket to a friend, you just edit the attendee name and email. The ticket code itself stays the same, so the existing QR/barcode still scans.

Custom Form fields

If you collected per-attendee Custom Form data (dietary, t-shirt size, etc.) and need to update those too, they’re editable in the same panel — alongside name and email.

Standalone Tickera (without WooCommerce)

If you’re running Tickera in standalone mode (no Bridge for WooCommerce), the same edit happens in Tickera → Attendees & Tickets instead. Open the attendee record directly and edit there.
