Can I use payment gateways supported by WooCommerce?
you want to use a payment gateway that exists for WooCommerce but isn’t natively supported by Tickera (Klarna, Afterpay, Square in some regions, Razorpay, regional bank-transfer methods, niche local processors) — and you need to know whether you can.
Short answer
Yes. Install Tickera + WooCommerce + the Bridge for WooCommerce add-on, and your Tickera tickets become WooCommerce products. From that point on, any payment gateway that has a WooCommerce extension works for ticket sales — Tickera handles tickets/events/attendees, WooCommerce handles the cart and payments.
How the setup looks
- Install Tickera (paid or free, your call).
- Install WooCommerce.
- Install Bridge for WooCommerce (a Tickera add-on).
- Create your event(s) in Tickera as usual.
- Create ticket types as WooCommerce products instead of plain Tickera ticket types.
- In WooCommerce, enable whichever payment gateways you want — they’ll appear at checkout.
What this unlocks
The WooCommerce gateway ecosystem is huge — hundreds of free and paid extensions. Some popular ones not natively in Tickera:
- Klarna — buy-now-pay-later, popular in Europe.
- Afterpay / Clearpay — installment payments, popular in Australia/UK.
- Razorpay — India’s dominant processor (UPI, cards, wallets).
- Square — common with US small businesses, especially those with physical retail.
- Cryptocurrency processors — BitPay, Coinbase Commerce, OpenNode for events that want crypto payments.
- Regional bank-transfer gateways — every country has one or two not on Tickera’s native list.
Plus all the standard ones (Stripe, PayPal, Authorize.Net, Braintree, Mollie) work natively in WooCommerce too.
Trade-offs of going via WooCommerce
- Plus: huge gateway selection, WooCommerce ecosystem features (coupons, subscriptions, multi-currency, abandoned-cart recovery), and the option to mix tickets with non-ticket products in one cart.
- Minus: WooCommerce is a heavier dependency than Tickera standalone — more server resources, more plugin updates to track.
For organizers who only sell tickets and only use standard gateways, Tickera standalone (without WooCommerce) stays simpler. For everyone else, Bridge for WooCommerce is the right path.
