Event Calendar stying and customization

The Event Calendar add-on includes several built-in themes that you can select when adding the calendar shortcode to your page or post. For most users, these presets match the style of their website well enough. But sometimes you want the calendar to blend perfectly with your own design and none of the available themes feel quite right which calls for custom event calendar theme.

For situations like this, we created a small add-on that lets you build your own custom calendar theme from scratch.

Inside the add-on, you’ll find a CSS file ready for your modifications. You can style every part of the calendar the way you want: colors, fonts, spacing, layouts, hover states, borders, and anything else your website design requires. Once you finish customizing the CSS, simply install and activate the add-on.

After activation, open the shortcode builder again and look at the theme selector. You’ll see a new option called My custom theme which is actually your custom event calendar theme. Select it, insert the shortcode, and the calendar will use the CSS you defined inside the add-on. This gives you full control over the appearance of the calendar while keeping the shortcode workflow as simple as before.
