Mollie
you want to use Mollie as your payment processor through Tickera — and need the full setup walkthrough.
Why Mollie
Mollie is a European-focused payment processor that excels at handling local payment methods most Tickera buyers in Europe actually use:
- iDEAL — dominant in the Netherlands; not optional if you sell to Dutch buyers.
- Bancontact — Belgium’s leading payment method.
- SOFORT / EPS / giropay — bank-transfer-style methods in Germany, Austria, etc.
- SEPA Direct Debit — for recurring or large-amount European bank transfers.
- Plus standard cards (Visa, Mastercard), Apple Pay, Google Pay, PayPal-through-Mollie.
Often cheaper than Stripe or PayPal for European volume, with better conversion on local methods.
Setup steps
- Install the Mollie add-on. Download from your Tickera account (under Mollie Payment Gateway), upload to WordPress as a plugin, activate.
- Create a Mollie account at mollie.com. Verification can take a few days for business accounts.
- Get your API keys. In Mollie dashboard → Developers → API keys. You’ll see a Test key and (after verification) a Live key.
- Configure in Tickera. Go to Tickera → Settings → Payment Gateways, enable Mollie, paste your Live API key.
- Pick which methods to expose. Mollie lets you enable/disable specific methods (iDEAL on, Bancontact on, SOFORT off, etc.) in your Mollie dashboard.
- Test mode first. Switch the gateway to Test mode in Tickera settings, run a fake purchase, confirm the order completes and the ticket is generated. Then switch to Live.
Currency support
Mollie supports EUR primarily, plus GBP, CHF, USD, and a handful of others. Confirm the currency you’ve configured in Tickera matches what your Mollie account supports for your country. See is my country’s currency supported.
Refunds
Refunds happen inside the Mollie dashboard (or via the WooCommerce admin if running Bridge for WooCommerce) — not from inside Tickera directly. Tickera will mark the order as refunded once Mollie notifies it via webhook.
Troubleshooting
- Test charges work, live charges fail — most often the Live API key wasn’t pasted, or your Mollie business verification isn’t complete yet.
- Specific methods don’t show at checkout — enable them in Mollie dashboard for your account.
- Webhook not firing — confirm your site is reachable from Mollie’s servers (no IP whitelisting blocking webhooks).
