If you ever wished your seating chart could resemble your actual venue map, court, or floor plan — you’re in luck. The Background image feature lets you upload an image (like a stage plan, floor layout, or sports court) and align your seating chart on top of it for perfect visual accuracy.
This feature is especially useful for complex venues or unconventional layouts where placing seats visually over a real map makes more sense than guessing spacing by eye.
To access the Background Image pane, click the image icon in the toolbox (the last icon on the right).
Here you’ll see a simple interface with three main parts:
Once your image is uploaded, it instantly appears on your seating chart canvas behind all other elements — think of it as a visual “blueprint” for your seating layout.
Use the Width and Height sliders (or type exact numbers) to fine-tune how the image fits the chart.
You can match the image’s proportions to your seating area, zoom it in to focus on a smaller section, or make it large enough to cover your entire canvas.
As you adjust, everything else — seats, tables, standing areas, and elements — stays fully interactive and can be freely positioned over the image.
Removing or replacing the background
Click Remove to delete the image and return to a clean canvas.
If you need to replace it, just upload a new one — the new background will immediately appear in the same position and scaling as before (you can always readjust it using the sliders).
The background image feature is a fantastic way to ensure that your seating chart reflects your real-world venue layout.
You can use any schematic or top-down plan — a concert hall, an exhibition space, or even a basketball court, like in our example above.
This makes it much easier to position seating groups and standing areas precisely, especially when you want to align them with walls, aisles, or fixed features of your venue.
Beyond accuracy, background images open up plenty of creative options:
