Open the add-on settings, write a subject + HTML body. Drop in merge tags like {attendee_name}, {event_title}, {ticket_id}. Save.

Staff scans at the gate.

Use the Checkinera app on a phone, or the built-in web scanner on a laptop. Standard QR scan — same thing you’ve been doing.

Send

Email lands in the inbox.

Within a second of the scan, the email fires through your WordPress mail config (SMTP, SendGrid, Mailgun, whatever you use). Attendee gets it before they’ve walked 20 feet.

about check-in mail.

Who gets the email — the buyer or the attendee?
Your choice, per event. If a buyer purchased 6 tickets for 6 different people (using Custom Forms), you can send to all 6 attendees individually, to the buyer only, or to both. Set it per event.
What email service does it use?
Whatever your WordPress is configured to use. wp_mail() — so if you have SMTP, SendGrid, Mailgun, Postmark, Amazon SES set up via a plugin like WP Mail SMTP, the check-in email rides through the same pipe as your order confirmations.
Does it work with the Checkinera app?
Yes — that’s the primary check-in path. Also works with the web-based scanner built into the Tickera admin, and with the Bridge for WooCommerce check-in flow.
Can the email include the QR code or PDF ticket?
The ticket itself already went out at purchase. The check-in email is a different beast — a welcome, a thank-you, a map. You can attach anything you want via standard WP mail attachments, but the use case is short and inboxable.
Can I personalize the email?
Yes — you can include attendee, event and ticket details in the message body. Check the add-on documentation for the current list of supported placeholders.
Does it work with the Tickera built-in scanner?
Yes — check-in via the web-based scanner in the Tickera admin triggers the notification the same way as a scan from the Checkinera app. The trigger is the check-in itself, not the device that recorded it.
