Download

App Store or Google Play.

Search “Checkinera”, install. Free. No subscription, no in-app purchase. The app is the same on both platforms.

Log in

Your Tickera site URL + an API access key.

Open Tickera admin, generate an API access key for a staff member (per-staff keys let you track who scanned what), paste your site URL and the key into the app. One-time login. The app validates, downloads the attendee database, and is ready to scan.

Scan

Point the camera at the ticket.

The camera reads QR codes natively. For barcode tickets, pair a Bluetooth/USB barcode reader. Either way, the app shows the attendee info and marks them checked in — multiple devices can scan in parallel.

about the apps.

How much do the apps cost?
The apps are free on the App Store and Google Play. There is no in-app purchase, no subscription, no unlock fee. They simply need to authenticate against a valid Tickera install — any tier (Standard, Bundle, Lifetime) works.
Do I need the Checkinera plugin too?
No. The native apps work directly with your Tickera install — no extra add-on required. The Checkinera plugin is a separate option that turns any browser into a scanning station (useful for laptops or borrowed devices with a USB barcode reader). Most organizers use the apps; some add the plugin for browser-based check-in alongside.
Can the camera scan barcode tickets too?
The device camera reads QR codes. For traditional barcode tickets, pair a Bluetooth or USB barcode reader with the phone or tablet — the app accepts scans from either source.
What about offline events with no Wi-Fi?
Once an operator logs in with internet, the app downloads the attendee database to the phone. From that point every scan is local. When the connection returns, the app syncs back to Tickera automatically. Spotty venue signal is fine.
Can multiple staff scan at the same time?
Yes — create as many staff members as you need in Tickera admin, generate an API access key for each one, and have them log in on as many devices as you want. Unlimited staff, unlimited devices. Scans sync to the same back-end so duplicates are caught across gates, and you can see in admin which staff member scanned which ticket.
Can I change the app’s colors or logo?
Not the pre-built App Store / Google Play version. If you need branded apps in your own colors and logo, see Checkinera Dev — the source code edition, included with Lifetime.
Which devices have you tested?
Any modern iOS device (iPhone, iPad) and any modern Android device with a working camera. Older devices generally work too, as long as the OS still receives security updates from Apple or Google.
